The Lok Sabha Secretariat has invited applications for 50 internship positions for a period of 3 months and another 50 internship positions for a period of 1 month. This opportunity aims at building the youth in the country who have outstanding academic credentials an understanding of the workings of Lok Sabha. Along with this Parliamentary internship, young talent will be trained to impart research inputs for future reference. The interns will be exposed to constitutonal and legal provisions with respect to the working of the parliament.


Regular Internship of three months duration (2nd July-28th September 2018) –

  • Indian citizens between 21 and 30 years of age as on closing date of applications.
  • Outstanding academic records in subjects such as social sciences, science, languages, environmental studies, law, journalism, finance, management etc.
  • Candidate should have completed a 2-year post graduate degree.
  • Submit a Recommendation Letter from the Principal of College/Head of the Institution .
  • Candidate should get permission from the respective institution about the internship .
  • Submit a brief statement of 250 words saying why you want to join the internship program, your career goals, and how the internship will help you in achieving those goals.

Student Internship of one-month duration (28th June-27th July 2018) –

  • The applicant should not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 30 years as on closing date of applications.
  • The applicant should be a student pursuing graduation/post graduation in disciplines such as social sciences, science, languages, environmental studies, law, journalism, finance, management, etc.
  • Submit a Recommendation Letter, get permission from the competent authorities, and submit a brief statement of 250 words giving details of why you want to join the internship program, your career goals and how the internship will help you in achieving those goals.


  • For 3 months internship – Rs. 20,000 per month as stipend and Rs. 10,000 for stationery and typing expenses.
  • For 1 month internship – Rs. 25,000 as stipend and Rs. 5000 for stationery and typing expenses.
  • Exposure to the Constitutional and legal provisions with respect to the working of Parliament.

The mission is to shift the gender makeup of the photojournalism community and ensure here that the chief storytellers are as diverse as the communities they hope to represent. Women Photograph is inclusive of a plurality of feminine voices including trans, queer and non-binary people.

You can only apply to one of the two grant programs – Women Photograph + Nikon Grants OR Women Photograph + Getty Images Grant.


Open to women and non-binary documentary photographers of any nationality. Your project could be on any story.

Women Photograph + Nikon Grants:

  • Visual journalists working in a documentary capacity – either new or ongoing.

Women Photograph + Getty Images Grant:

  • An ongoing documentary project of a professional photojournalist having a long-term commitment to the story.
  • Submit portfolios of 20-25 images indicating that a substantial amount of work has already been completed.
  • The photographer must have a clear vision of the future work needed to complete the project.
  • Additional consideration will be given to applicants who display a personal connection to the communities they cover.


No fee required to apply. Half of the funding will be given at the beginning of the project, and half upon completion. There are no restrictions on camera equipment.

Women Photograph + Nikon Grants:

  • Out of 5 grants, 1 will be reserved for a non-binary or transgender photographer.
  • $5000 grants.

Women Photograph + Getty Images Grant:

  • $10,000 prize for winning applicant
  • Option to have Getty Images’ editorial guidance throughout your project.
