Ayn Rand Institute essay contest; Submit by 1st May 2018 & 15th May 2018

Ayn Rand Institute (ARI) conducts worldwide essay contests for students on Ayn Rand’s fiction for the past 30 years. This year there will be award distribution of over 750 prizes totaling more than $130,000. There are 3 topics for this contest and each topic has different eligibility criteria and awards.
ELIGIBILITY:
  • Open to students worldwide.
  • Anthem contest (600-1200 words) – class 8, 9 and 10 can participate.
  • The Fountainhead contest (800-1600 words) – class 11 and 12 are eligible.
  • Atlas Shrugged contest (800-1600 words) – class 12, college undergraduates and graduate students are eligible.
  • Homeschooled students are also eligible.
  • The work should be original and there should be no plagiarism.
  • You can only select one of three topics.
  • You may submit only one entry for each contest.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Candidates can submit their duly written essay by either of the 2 modes below –

  • Mode 1: Online mode
    • Candidates can submit their essay online. In the case of online submission, the candidate will be sent an email confirming the receipt. In case the candidate doesn’t get the confirmation email within 24 hours he/she must email to [email protected]
  • Mode 2: Offline Mode
    • Candidates can mail their duly written essays with a stapled cover sheet to “Anthem/The Fountainhead/Atlas Shrugged/ Essay Contest, The Ayn Rand Institute, P.O Box 57044, Irvine, CA 92619-7044”. The candidate must paperclip a stamped self-addressed postcard. Ayn Rand Education will return this postcard to the candidate as essay receipt confirmation.
