Inviting a candidate for UNESCO Kalinga Prize for the Popularization of Science 2019 in consultation with National Commission and Non- Governmental Organisation.
The objective of the Prize is in directly in line with UNESCO’s policies and is related to the Programme on the popularization of science.
A distinguished career as a writer, editor, lecturer, radio/television/web programme director or film producer, which has enabled him/her to help interpret science, research and technology for the public, enriching the cultural heritage of the nations and resolving issues pertaining to humanity.
A self-nomination cannot be considered for this Award. Each Member State and Non-Governmental Organization may designate one candidate.
The candidate shall hold the following documents in English or French with a cover letter-
a. Description of thé candidate’s background
b. Completed submission form
c. Summary of thé work, or thé résulte of thé work, on thé popularization of science, including publications and other supporting materials, to be submitted for considération
d. Description of how the candidate’s submitted work has contributed to the popularization of science.
The laureate is selected by the Director-General of UNESCO upon the recommendation of a Jury of five members (who are recognized personalities based on the equitable geographical distribution as designated by the Director-General of UNESCO).
On receiving the applications, the Jury will meet the Director General at UNESCO in September to present their evaluation and issue the recommendation.

However, if it must be sent by postal services, it should include five hard copies or five digital supports (USB, CD or DVD) of the complete dossier and addressed to Kalinga Prize Secretariat at UNESCO –
